World Premiere: Cloudstreet 12-21 May
After a 4 year development George Palmer’s musical treatment of the story finally gets its chance to fly on the main stage with the State Opera of South Australia.
Adapted from the Tim Winton novel with libretto by Tim Winton and George Palmer and directed by internationally renowned director Gale Edwards.
Set in the mid 20th century, Cloudstreet tells the story of 2 western Australian families, the Lambs and the Pickles, and the extraordinary events that ultimately bind them together. Often hilarious, sometimes harrowing, it is is the story of Fish Lamb and the fate that makes him the link between two worlds and of his brother Quick and Rose, the girl across the hall. It is a story of love in all its forms but most of all it’s about catharsis and redemption.
